The President meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China
President His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with His Excellency Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday.
During the meeting, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the importance the Maldives places on its relationship with China. He also discussed ongoing agreements and projects between the two nations. The President expressed his appreciation for China's support in developing the Maldives’ tourism sector.
In response, Wang Yi reaffirmed China's commitment to continuing its support for the Maldives in all areas of cooperation. Both leaders underscored the importance of sustained collaboration to address shared concerns, particularly in relation to climate change and adaptation efforts.
