The President arrives in New York to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly

President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, arrived in New York on Sunday morning to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This marks his first visit to the UN and the United States since taking office in November of last year.

Upon his arrival, the President was welcomed by Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN.

During this visit the President is scheduled to address different meetings and events of the 79th session of the UNGA, as well as take part in a special open debate at the UN Security Council.

In addition to his UN engagements, President Dr Muizzu will attend the "Summit of the Future," a key event happening alongside the UNGA. He is also scheduled to deliver a speech at Princeton University, addressing both faculty and students.

President Dr Muizzu is accompanied by a high-level government delegation during this visit.
