The number of work visa applications has surged significantly, driven by the ongoing efforts of Immigration and relevant authorities to tackle the issue of illegal expatriates in the country. Tuesday saw a record number of work visas issued at Maldives Immigration.
The Controller General of Immigration has reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing illegal immigration within the next three years and urged businesses to refrain from collaborating with unlawful immigrants or harbouring individuals without proper documentation.
