At the 52nd session of the Universal Periodic Review, the Maldives congratulated Estonia for acceding to key international conventions on enforced disappearance and discrimination against women, which entered into force in 2025. The Maldives also recommended accelerating efforts to address legislative gaps to ensure effective protection against hate speech and racial discrimination.
