On the sidelines of the Third High-Level Conference on Global Action for Shared Development held in Beijing, the Government of the Maldives signed minutes of a meeting with the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the development of 500 social housing units in Malé. The project will be financed through an interest-free facility extended by China. The agreement was signed by Minister of State Mr. Ibrahim Thoaam Mohamed on behalf of the Maldives and Mr. Liu Junfeng, Vice Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), on behalf of China, alongside discussions on further grant aid cooperation to strengthen bilateral development ties.
