Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC revealed that, 70% work has been completed in the Th. Kinbidhoo Land Reclamation Project, in accordance with the presidential pledge to that effect. Once finished, this project will add 25.10 hectares of newly reclaimed land to the island, creating more opportunities for housing and addressing social and economic needs.

The Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim has stated that no Maldivian ports have been sold and that all ports in the Maldives are under the control of MPL. Refuting media and opposition claims that ports have been sold and that MPL has lost control over some ports in Maldives, Wajeeh said, the management of then ports are under Maldivian control. However, he added that they have sought foreign expertise and assistance in handling certain matters.
