Ambassador Ali Naseer Mohamed, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Maldives to United Nations; former Ambassador to the United States; former Chair of AOSIS has met with Ambassador Tareq Albanai, Permanent Representative of the Kuwait to the United Nations.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC revealed that, 70% work has been completed in the Th. Kinbidhoo Land Reclamation Project, in accordance with the presidential pledge to that effect. Once finished, this project will add 25.10 hectares of newly reclaimed land to the island, creating more opportunities for housing and addressing social and economic needs.

The Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim has stated that no Maldivian ports have been sold and that all ports in the Maldives are under the control of MPL. Refuting media and opposition claims that ports have been sold and that MPL has lost control over some ports in Maldives, Wajeeh said, the management of then ports are under Maldivian control. However, he added that they have sought foreign expertise and assistance in handling certain matters.

STO MD Shimad has said that the company is working on ensuring availability of fuel in the atolls at STO's rate by 2026

Managing Director of State Trading Organisation STO, Shimad Ibrahim revealed, they are in talks with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, regarding goods necessary for Ramadan. Noting that Ramadan is a month where unexpected price hikes have been observed, the MD said that preparations are underway to prevent it by reflecting on past experience.

Managing Director of State Trading Organisation STO, Shimad Ibrahim said that the Projects initiated in Ihavandhippolhu would boost the region’s economy.  He added that the recently introduced bunkering service is just a single component of the Maldives Economic Gateway, which is a vision that the President has for Ihavandhippolhu.

Ministry of Tourism announces that Maldives has been named World's Leading Destination for the fifth year running. In a post on the official X account, the Ministry noted the hard work and dedication of the entire tourism industry, thanking and congratulating all on the win. The Maldives also won the World’s Leading Green Destination, a direct result of the nation and sector's commitment to sustainability
